Bank of Singapore CEO Bahren Shaari to retire

Bank of Singapore CEO Bahren Shaari looks set to retire by the end of this month.

Bank of Singapore announced that Bahren Shaari, chief executive officer (CEO) will retire by the end of December. 

Shaari who assumed the role of CEO on February 1, 2015 served the company for more than 13 years in various roles.

Vincent Choo – OCBC Bank’s outgoing group chief risk officer has been named as interim CEO.

Following his retirement announcement, Shaari in a LinkedIn post shared his association with the bank.

“I’m immensely grateful and proud of the 13 years I’ve spent at Bank of Singapore, Asia’s global private bank. It has been a great privilege for me to work with a team of dedicated colleagues who are the best at what they do,” he posted on Linkedin.

He also made special mention about his former boss Marcel Kreis during UBS days and predecessor at Bank of Singapore Bing De Guzman.
