Indian tech giant HCL Technologies has announced its plans to recruit 1,000 employees in Brazil in the next two years, along with the opening of a new technology centre in the South American nation.

The latest move comes as part of the tech company's expansion of its operations to cater to a growing clientele. According to the company's statement, they will hire and develop local IT talents to deliver next-generation technology solutions.

"Our commitment to Brazil is part of our long-term strategic plan in the country, which includes supercharging progress for our clients, partners, people and communities in this region of significant importance," said Anil Ganjoo, Chief Growth Officer, Americas and Executive Sponsor, Brazil, HCLTech.

Popularly knowns as the 'Samba country', Brazil is the 'B' of the prominent BRICS members, which represents the world's fastest-growing economies in the world including Russia, India, China and South Africa.

Despite being the 8th largest economy in the world, Brazil is still a developing country with a massive talent pool. The country boasts of more than 189 million mobile phones and 200 million tech-savvy consumers along with a growing interest in tech trends, which seemingly makes Brazil an 'El Dorado' of the tech talent pool. Tech Crunch reported that the country contains 84% of the Afro-Brazilian population and called its vassal state Bahia, the 'Black Silicon Valley '.

Fabiano Funari, Country Head, Brazil, HCLTech said, "We are excited to continue expanding our presence and bringing new economic opportunities to Brazil. We're committed to becoming the preferred digital partner for clients in Brazil by delivering the best technology solutions to help our local and global clients on their technology journeys."
