Oracle and SkillsFuture Singapore to bolster Singapore's talent economy
Oracle and SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today at Oracle’s IMPACT Innovation Summit last week in the presence of Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry & Ministry of Education, Mr Chee Hong Tat. This marked the start of Oracle’s collaboration with SSG and its support for the national SkillsFuture movement in Singapore.
Oracle will work with SSG to embed the Skills Frameworks in Oracle Human Capital Management (HCM) Cloud, allowing HR professionals, employers and employees to quickly and easily access the Skills Frameworks. This provides them with a common skills language that helps in recruitment processes, talent management, and facilitating learning and development for the organization.
Deputy Chief Executive (Industry) of SkillsFuture Singapore, Dr Michael Fung stated, “Disruptions today are happening at an unprecedented rate and we need the industry’s support in getting our workforce ready with the right skillsets to stay relevant and prepared for the future workplace. SSG is glad to have Oracle as a partner in these efforts and we believe that this collaboration will help amplify and extend the SkillsFuture movement as we build a resilient and future-ready workforce.”
The collaboration will help to improve talent management, provide better workforce insights, improve smarter recruiting and facilitate intelligent skills matching to jthe ob role. The collaboration also supports the SkillsFuture movement by helping organizations equip their workforce with critical and emerging skills that are in demand.
Oracle currently offers training programmes via partners that are Oracle Approved Education Centers and Oracle Education Resellers. Oracle will work with SSG to extend its commitment to helping Professionals, Managers, Executives and Technicians (PMETs) and individuals interested in a career in IT to enter the profession. Oracle will also work closely with SSG to contextualize its curricula design and training programmes with reference to the Skills Frameworks.
Oracle will also expand its CET offerings through intermediaries such as Institutes of Higher Learning and CET centres, to help build the talent pipeline for the workforce of tomorrow.
Serene Sia, Managing Director, Oracle Singapore said, “We are very excited to be embarking on this journey with SkillsFuture Singapore. We look forward to doing our part within the national SkillsFuture movement to help Singaporeans realize their full potential through training and career development.”
