Layoffs continue: Dell to kick out nearly 7000 employees as demand for PCs drops
The ongoing layoffs have resulted in big tech firms bleeding workers left and right. After Amazon, Twitter, Meta, Google, and several other giants, Dell has also announced layoffs.
The company will be getting rid of 6,650 employees, affecting roughly 5 per cent of its global workforce. This decision has been taken due to the decline in the demand for personal computers.
According to a report by Bloomberg, Dell's Co-Chief Operating Officer, Jeff Clarke claimed that the company is facing tough market conditions with an uncertain future.
“We’ve navigated economic downturns before and we’ve emerged stronger. We will be ready when the market rebounds,” Clarke said in the employee memo.
