A study by HR tech firm Paychex has revealed that 63% of employees are likely to continue with their organisation if they get better learning opportunities. 64% employees said they are satisfied with the opportunities which their organisation has offered them for career advancement.

However, those staff who work fully remote expressed their disagreement (14%) more than those who worked fully on-site (8%) or hybrid (7%). Those who worked full-time (69%) expressed more satisfaction with the job than those who worked part-time (58%), the study said. A staggering 74 per cent millennials said they wanted to stay at their organisation if they get more opportunities to learn and grow. The rate of approval were 63% for Gen X, 62% for Gen Z, and 45% for Baby Boomers. 

Commenting on the findings, Alison Stevens, director of HR Services, Paychex said, "The American work experience is more varied than ever before — even between workers in the same roles. We're seeing skill gaps grow as employees increasingly get to choose working arrangements that fit their lifestyles. With employees yearning for more educational and career-building experiences, employers will need to pay attention to the differences between these groups to curate programmes that keep employees engaged and stimulated regardless of their time in an office."

The study, conducted in association with Future Workplace, an Executive Networks member company, highlights workers' desires to sharpen their skills and advance their careers with the support of their employers.
