Dan Cullen is the partner-in-charge of Heidrick & Struggles’ Singapore office and a member of the global Technology, Private Equity & Venture Capital, and Social Impact practices in Asia Pacific.
As a member of the Technology Practice, Dan has deep expertise working with firms as they facilitate senior leadership and organizational transformation in cloud, cybersecurity, digital, IOT, and mobility. A significant proportion of his work relates to Asia Pacific leadership across the region, both around succession planning and team development.
Dan specializes in working with venture capital and private equity portfolio firms in IT services and outsourcing, technology and business services, as well as in consulting joint ventures (JVs) in China, corporate development, and strategy roles. Much of his recent work has also focused on disruptive innovation and the burgeoning start-up scene in Asia, providing succession planning and advisory services to a wide range of global and Asia-based clients.
Dan is also particularly skilled at working with private equity funds and strategic investors in the B2C consumer markets and education sector, having worked across the higher education, K-12 and private education sector. He has managed projects in the UK, Europe, Southeast Asia and China. His experience includes governance reviews for a number of marquee educational institutions in Asia, alongside succession planning and organizational design services. Previously, Dan worked with a subsidiary of a large global executive search firm in London and Singapore as senior associate as well as head of research in Asia.
