Ashok Ramachandran assumed his new role as the President of Schindler India and South Asia starting from July 1, 2019. The global provider of escalators and elevators, Schindler India, has appointed Ramachandran to replace Uday Kulkarni who has retired from his role as the president.

Having joined Schindler in 2006 from the quality department in Schindler at Australia, he moved up to the position of Managing Director of Schindler Vietnam in 2012. In Vietnam, he was able to revamp the business and was later assigned as an MD of Schindler Malaysia in 2016. His latest position prior to becoming the president was that of the CEO of Schindler India.

Ramachandran brings with him international experience and industry knowledge across various sectors. He has been instrumental in the company’s ‘We Elevate’ mission and has helped the company expand to various products.

“I look forward to further enhancing the quality of our products and services with a customer-centric approach while focussing on people at the core of our organization and thereby creating long-term value for all our stakeholders and consumers,” Ramachandran said.

Uday Kulkarni, who is Ramachandran’s predecessor, will now be in-charge of the Schindler University.
