Mapletree to hire up to 30 fresh grads for work-study traineeship

Mapletree Investments Pte Ltd announced the launch of a 12-month work-study full-time program, known as Mapletree Traineeship (“M-TRAIN”). The program, which is initiated and fully funded by Mapletree will employ up to 30 trainees, aims to support fresh graduates who face difficulty in finding employment in Singapore amid the global pandemic.

The program is set to commence from December 2020 onwards. Trainees will have the opportunity to gain relevant skills and knowledge in the real estate industry, as well as work experience while attending classroom training conducted by faculty members from Singapore Management University (“SMU”) and Senior Leaders from Mapletree.  

Hiew Yoon Khong, Group Chief Executive Officer of Mapletree said, “The idea to develop the M-TRAIN program came about because we recognized that the current pandemic has made it challenging for the fresh graduates to gain employment, and we see value in nurturing talent.”

The program is open to those students who have graduated from Universities or Polytechnics (Bachelor/ Master’s or Diploma) in 2019 or 2020. Applicants should have less than one year of working experience. Under the program, trainees can look forward to gaining practical and hands-on experience through work, and acquiring more knowledge with the study component. The ‘Work’ component will provide trainees with the opportunity to work on projects with the relevant business functions in Mapletree, including Finance / Data Analytics, Human Resource, Information Systems & Technology, Investor Relations, Leasing and Marketing, Property Management, and others. Trainees will have the opportunity to be rotated.

Upon successful completion of the program, trainees will receive a Mapletree-SMU Certificate of Completion. Suitable trainees may be offered career opportunities with Mapletree Group. M-TRAIN continues the partnership between Mapletree and SMU established through the Mapletree Real Estate Program, launched in January 2018.
